Another superb classic romantic song from Edward Woodward and another great post. This seems to have been recorded much later than "They Didn't Believe Me". In that song, he's definitely a tenor, but here he sounds like a light baritone. His singing is like a lost buried treasure. Who knew?! :)

I have the original Decca album "The Best of Jolson" that includes this song. I've loved it ever since I first heard it when I was seven. Great images of Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney from their "Andy Hardy" days. They mix superbly with the audio. Great post!

Great! Don't know what movie this is from, but the song shows a playful side of Jolson with a little "wiseguy" thrown in. It was hilarious when he singled out the old guy dancing with the young woman and sang "I bet your not dancing with your wife!"

I love the way Jolson used his entire register in numbers like "Anniversary Song" and here. His baritone seems heavier in recordings made at the end of his career. In many ways, it's better than ever, just like the fictional filmmaker said in "Jolson Sings Again." RIP, Al. God knows you weren't p...
