@rodjanuary Memphis studio ace David Smith played bass. He also played on Jonny Lang's "Lie To Me" and "Wander This World" CDs. Soulful dude! "Heavy Love" is the name of the CD this track comes. One of my all time favorite Buddy CDs!

Is this the same bass that Ronnie Lane played with THE FACES? I saw a couple of videos. RL had a bass that did have a metal front. But it was a Les Paul shape.He played with a pick. His tone was really cool and distinctive.

@stoobeetube Yup! It's Bootsy! If you listen closely, you hear JB say "Bootsy!" to bring the bass in after the breakdown. This is the 2nd version JB recorded of this song. The original (1st version) is a bit different

It is so awesome to hear this! I lived in Memphis when this was recorded. I knew the drummer and bass player on this album (Steve Mergen and Dave Smith) I had a cassette of it. Long lost now :( Thanks for posting! Do you happen to have a song from it called Wolf River?
