Unfortuneatly, the Moonglows were victims of Allen Frieds payola. If you look at the credits on some to their records as to who wrothe the songs, Havey's name is on there along with Fried. He never wrote a lick of the song, but got credit.

This song was the one that rocketed Ray into fame and fortune back in the early fifties. He was primarily a Blues singer, and this is one his best ever. This rendition is the original. I have the 45, part of my huge collection of doo wop.

i consider myself fortunate to have grown up in the 50's, lived near NYC, and have been a part of the great doo-wop era. Johnny was one of the very best. RIP.
This was Rays first big hit and launched him into stardom. The rest is history.
