Amen to that & I'm British. Infact the 1950's was a great revolutionary decade both in USA , Britain & elsewhere musically speaking. 'Joe Public' , so to speak, needs to wake up to the fact that all these great sounds happened well before the popular beat group sounds of the 1960's!!

SUPERB...Yet another sincere musical gem produced by so called down to earth mankind. No synthesizers, no dependance on electronic disguise etc.. This is what is meant by Pure Jass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Very moving rendition from a unique combination of devoted musicians & performers, surely adding true sounds into the airwaves of history. Infectious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marvellous ... An Australian Jazz Band capturing the 1920's Chicago South-Side Flavour in a real Aussie manner of musical mastery. A wonderful cocktail of superb inspiration, if that does'nt sound too confusing. Anyway a real treat to pure jazz ears.... Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the 'dancers' had a problem with the 'shoot from the hip' approach here, then they should have to wait until the more sweet syrupy rhythms of the 1930's. Come on this is 1925 & glad it was & really happened.... SUPERBLY & SINCERELY CHARISMATIC FROM THE SOUL! Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion, this is one of the best perfomances the Bell band ever produced, indeed one of the best jazz compositions of all time! I believe a composition of Graeme's own. My hair stood on end when I first heard this 78 disc back in about 1969. Live on Graeme!!!

Oh My!!! King Oliver / Bunk Johnson rolled into one & digging deep into the bowels of the "Blues". ... (Trumpet). George Lewis's style revived on the reedy clarinet. These guys retain the 'admirable earthy style' on this one. What more can I say!
