The days of the independent movie reviewers and game reviewers here on youtube is almost at a close. It was fun while it lasted. I have had 5 videos flagged even while they were on private. Most of you know that for about 6 months I took down almost 200 of my videos in protest of the issue of unfair treatment of the smaller channels and the larger ones. Smaller channels get suspended and deleted and the larger corporate ones are protected from such actions.

Since almost all my videos went private, I had 5 of my videos that were not viewable by the public or anyone for that matter were flagged for copyright, they did fall under fair use, but were flagged anyways and I didnt even bother protesting even though I would win. There is no point to it. Unless the system changes, it will just happen again and again until finally for some technicality my channel is suspended anyways, because of multiple attacks by bots and partners that want to unjustly put banners on my videos. The system is totally automated people! They have bots just going around and unfairly flagging videos like yours and mine without even checking them.

The only way anything will change is if we work together, but so far people seem to be pretty cool with the new corporate/money/greedy/elite/e xclusive/hypocrite/google/them tube as it is. The website formerly known as youtube. It is the same in name only. Youtube 2009 has almost nothing in common with youtube 2006.

The days where someone like you and I could just start a channel and make videos and have a shot at being seen, are pretty much over. If anyone thinks that because they have 20,000 to 50,000 subscribers that they are important here on youtube, they need to think again. They can make any channel at anytime grow to that level in a matter of weeks. Fred gained 45,000 new subscribers in 7 days. All they do is put them in the high rotation program where their videos are all over the rising, popular and spotlight sections of youtube and they will gain thousands of subscribers in just a few days as long as their videos dont suck to bad.

Keep in mind that youtube was built on copyright infringement. It was built off the backs of videos like evolution of dance, pokemon theme song, numa numa, and all the tv shows and movies that were illegally uploaded to youtube. Without all that content being put up here illegally, this site would never be what it is today. Youtube is still full of copyright infringing videos. They are all over the place. I am not talking about a small clip that would be considered fair use. I am talking about channels that have nothing but 10 minute clips from various TV shows and youtube just turns a blind eye and lets it all happen. Meanwhile you use a small clip of a trailer or the full trailer that can be found anywhere on the internet and you are accused of being a thief and a criminal. Your videos marked or removed or even worse your channel suspended.

So for those of you that supported this channel. I do thank you. I always enjoyed sharing my thoughts on good movies with you, and my friends and family. I just cant support an industry anymore that looks at us more as if we are all criminals and thiefs, then their paying customers. It all boils down to time management. I did this for free. I never made a dime. In fact I lost money doing this. They have no respect for us and they have shown it with how they have acted towards us in the past and how they continue to fight over every little detail when we are in fact promoting their work, not hurting it. It is a shame that something that should have been nothing but fun, has turned into something so petty. There is nothing worse then seeing billionaires fighting for millions. Meanwhile, all we want to do is enjoy the art of filmmaking and share our passion for it with other people around the world.

Since the recession is hitting all of us, they really need to be careful with how much they bit the hand that feeds them. As of right now, they have pretty much lost me as a paying customer. I can do without it. Lets just hope that things change and that they realize that their customers are not their enemy. We are their life blood.
