Marcos Ambrose has racing in his blood. Born in Launceston, Tasmania in 1976, Marcos' father Ross was also a race car driver, which set the stage for Ambrose's career in motorsport. Ambrose has spent most of his life competing in racing series around the globe, shaping him into a world-class race car driver. From karting titles growing up in Tasmania, to Formula Ford and Formula Three in Europe, to a legendary career in Australian V8 Supercars, Marcos has focused heavily on motorsport, which laid the groundwork for a successful entry onto the U.S. NASCAR racing scene.

Ambrose is in constant pursuit, and just not of his competitors on the track. He thrives on new challenges and had a lifelong dream of not only competing in the US NASCAR circuit, but of also driving for the King himself, Richard Petty.

Ambrose in entering his third year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2011. He will be driving the No. 9 Stanley Ford Fusion for Richard Petty Motorsports with veteran crew chief Todd Parrott on the pit box.
