About this user
In early 1996 Mafia AKA Skuntdunanna was scouted by an up and coming record label called Sea Sick Records. After a couple of months of negotiations he was signed by the record label and in late 1996 the contracts were signed and Skunt recorded over 167 songs over a 5-year period.
After 5 long years the label finally decided to release his first album Trapped In The Hatrixx. Even though it was a long tenure of recording music with minimal results Skunt learned a lot from labels as an artist. He performed in Canada, Las Vegas, California, Idaho, Montana, and New York and opened for platinum artist such as Snoop Dogg, The Eastsiderz, Ludacris, Destiny's Child, Jesse Powell, Ja Rule, 2 Live Crew, Tech N9ne,Fat Joe, RBL Posse, and many others.
After the release and subsequent success of his first and only album with this Sea Sick Records Skunt decided it was time to grow as an artist and he left the label who gave him his start. He decided to use his knowledge of the music business and start his own record label Skunt Muzik. This would be a label where he could feel comfortable and where he could use his knowledge to succeed. At the same time as Skunt was creating A lable he got back in touch with an old friend in the music business.
This long time friends name was David D-Sane Severance CEO of Street Level Records. This lable had already started making a name for themselves with successful releases. In 2003 the two labels Skunt Muzik & Street Level records released their debut collaborative effort with the album "The Streetz Iz Enough". In 2003 the hit single It Ain't Hard to See came in#3 in a local end of the year countdown on Seattle's #1 Hip Hop Station Kube 93.
A Seattle super group would be formed a year later with the likes of Skuntdunanna, his twin brother Twin-G, A-Train, and 151. For what NWA did for California the new group would do for Seattle. The name of the group was self explanatory, Lac Of Respect
In 2004 Seaspot magazine not only voted Mafias group the #1 local album that year but the chief editor went on to say "thats the best album to come out this town ever!"
Skunt continued to show his relentless work ethic over the next few years releasing three mixtapes. Feel Me Or Kill Me in 2006, Live From The Hater Capital Of The World in 2007, and Never Let Em See You Stress in 2009. After a 6 year hiatus Skunt Aka Mafia is back with his third official solo album Lead By Example. The album in conjunction with House Hold Ent/Skunt Muzik with features production from D-Sane, Young Suspect, Che Blaq, Kajmir Royale, Roc phella, Mafia, Young Star, & Stuwey Newton. Doing what Skunt does best the albums features are minimal with guest spots from Che Blaq, Wanz, & Nemma Of Unexpected Arrival.Following behind that is the most highly talked about and big buz on the street mix tape Note Pads And Toe Tags.were Skunt leaves no prisoners with his catchy homrous puchlines and fearless battle phrases.
Skunt has produced beats and appeared on over 50 different albums and has fans all over the world. Skunt has only started to show the world his talent and abilities. 2011 is his year to shine and to show the world what he can do. With hundreds of songs and beats in his arsenal he is primed to make his impact in the music industry.
