PROF. RICHARD W. BROWN started teaching in 1969 and has conducted thousands of interviews with the greatest film artists of our generation. On this page, you will find clips from his remarkable archive of interviews with Hollywood legends, icons and influential filmmakers, producers, writers, editors and actors. More than interviews, these are conversations on the cinematic adventure offering a vivid background and rich understanding of motion pictures.

CLASSIC MOVIES101: Prof. Browns legendary film series, Movies101 is now in its 40th year. Each week, MOVIES101 continues to screen new films before the theatrical release, followed by interviews with the actors or director, and sometimes both. This collection of clips features interviews (audio and video) starting at the beginning of the series. The conversations range from discussions on directing, acting, producing and writing, all focusing on one common thread: the magic of the movies. Interviews include Martin Scorsese, George Clooney, Sigourney Weaver, Al Pacino, among many others.
LECTURES: Prof. Brown often lectures at Yale, Harvard, Chautauqua Institute, The Smithsonian, The Sorbonne, as well as in his class, Movies101. This is a clip collection of some of those lectures and interviews, including discussions on "Pride & Prejudice" (2005), "Walk the Line" (2005) and "The Bank Job" (2008), including an interview with director, Roger Donaldson.
REFLECTIONS ON THE SILVER SCREEN: From 1990-1995, REFLECTIONS aired on AMC and was taped in New York and Los Angeles. The series, produced by Prof. Brown, featured interviews with icons of Hollywood, including Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn, Anthony Perkins, Angela Lansbury, Jimmy Stewart, Katharine Hepburn, Gene Kelly, Jack Lemmon, among many other screen legends.
MOVIES101 ON AMC: Prof. Brown's second film series on AMC, aired from 2005 to 2006. The series won a Gracie Award and an Angel Award for Best Talk Series. Focusing on current icons in Hollywood, interviews included George Clooney, Martin Scorsese, Sigourney Weaver, Susan Sarandon, Jeff Bridges and Daniel Day-Lewis among others.
