So expressive, and hypnotically beautiful.

I confess i am not a fan to much of Jaroussky performed out-put; however, in this instance i conceed, there is a certain sweetness to his voice which caresses this music Soooo sensitively....i think i may be becoming a latent convert....albeit, slowly!......Must get this CD though: if it is still...

I would recommend listerners to compare this current interpretation with that posted by PeriodinstrumentfaN..........The present recording posted by Mephisto01cl is Soooo magical.....the latter i have no comment: which i feel is sufficent to say the least.

This is music which pumps the heart a little faster and unites the soul a little tighter and closer to God....It even returns ones faith in humanity, but sadly on this latter aspect, only for the short period this sublime and etherial music is heard.

So use the Christie's version with Les Art Florrssant; it is refreshing to have an interpretation which adds different colours to the music!......"Amazing" is an understatement!

A Delightful rendition...."However", as much as i worship Auvity, i would prefer he stuck to the french reportoire....his Lully and Rameau etc are to die for!

What a wonderful voice Ledroit had....His Vivaldi Stabat Mater has suplanted for a while that by James Bowman in my heart...for a few seconds druring the introduction one can almost hear Kathlene Ferrier!.

This is "Music" which melts the soul!..What a sound! Sadly our ears have become jaded by the popular baroque classics, chruned out by performers to make record labels money. Surely given the right circumstances this musical gem of Schmelzer's could surpass the famous Canon, and out sparkles the A...

A great fan of baroque music, although to my ignorance, i always and only associates Marais with the solo Viola D' Gamba.....What a pleasure his orchestrated works are. I am now a convert! and keen to explore further!....This music has the Wow factor.

Wow!...What a work!...It illustrates how a genius like Balbastre can cut his cloth to prevailing political winds; particularly in view of his works written during the French Revolution, which by comparison seem Soooo sobering.

Refreshing to hear a solo interpretaion....I love Lully's orchestrated works, but this solo gem seems more intermit somehow!

My first encounters with ealry music was as a teenager in the mid 80's....Emma Kirkby for me holds fond memorys. Through her voiceI i heard Vivaldi and Dowland for the first time and was hooked!.......i think i have since bought every recording she made, but i hold with great regard her recording...

Not historically accurate it is true, but it has permited the music of Lully to reach a far wider audiance; and many ignorant to his musical existance are now aware of his colossal contribution, not least to musical history, but to history per-se. His role subserviently tugging...

Superb Music...Lully, I regret to say is a late musical discovery for myself; but what new musical treats there are to delight!....and Youtube holds a treasure trove of lullian wonders!

In comparison to Christie's earlier 1987 interpretation, the present seems Sooooo different. Enhanced markedly by wonderful heart-felt singing. The 1987 version by comparison is emotionally dry............The wonderful thing though about the work is the ballet interludes!......I am now a convert ...

What a wonderful sound painting medievil German is for the ears! This performance is mind-blowing!, The notes and text by the individual who up-loaded this work are most appreciated, but not really necessary. Even with no understanding of the text, the power which the words and music evoke hammer...
