About Coracle Capers
A Coracle is a one person boat used for pleasure,high jinks,fishing,racing,poaching & extreme ironing.It may be made of fibreglass or wood and covered in bed sheet or animal hide.The Shrewsbury Hell Fire Coracle Club has existed since c.1986 & is involved in high adrenaline extreme Coracling! The Coracle Society is concerned with the more traditional side of Coracling and the history of the various designs of Coracles.The Society is promoting Coracling as an Olympic Sport and already has a racing tournament called The Millers Mile that tests the Coraclers skill & endurance against the stop watch.There are 3 World Records eagerly competed for every June at the society`s regatta in Herefordshire at Mortimers Cross Mill.
