Leo Morello was born in 1994. He studies cello with M° Antonino Puliafito and M° Enrico Bronzi.He has won several national and international competitions. When he was seven, the second prize at "Città di Manerbio" competition, when he was eight and twelve the first prize in two editions of "Music Schools National Competition" in Campi Bisenzio, Firenze; when he was thirteen, the first prize at Tallon Competition for strings in Pordenone. In 2008 he has won two first prizes performing in duet and in trio at "Zangarelli National Competition" in Città di Castello (Perugia), in 2009 with the Trio of Piccola Orchestra Veneta he won the first prize at "Young Musicians International Competition" in Treviso and the special prize for the best performance in chamber music in Schio International Competition. In 2009 he entered as soloist Ars Nova International Competition, winning a first prize. In 2010, performing in trio with his sister Martina Morello and with Paolo Tagliamento, he won the first prize at Ars Nova International Competition, in Trieste.
In 2009 and 2010 were assigned to him two fellowships at the International Festival of Music in Portogruaro, Venice.
He was also winner of fellowships offered by the Rotary and the Lions Club of Portogruaro.
He plays since 2005 with several youth orchestras, as principal and soloist cello: "Giovani Musicisti Veneti" symphony orchestra in Treviso, "Piccola Orchestra Veneta" chamber orchestra in Conegliano and "Zinaida Gilels" youth orchestra in San Vito al Tagliamento, wherewith he was requested to participate in the festival "Assisi in the world" 2009 and 2010, as soloist too. In 2008 and 2009 he joined several productions, organized by Teatro la Fenice, with "Giovane Filarmonica del Veneto" orchestra performing recitals of Aida and Rigoletto all around Italy.
He played also with professional orchestras and ensembles, as Naonis Orchestra in Pordenone, Orchestra del Veneto Orientale, Orchestra Classica del Veneto and ensemble Dramsam (ancient music). He has also been engaged in productions of contemporary music.
At Fondazione Musicale Santa Cecilia in Portogruaro he has attented since 2007 the masterclasses of Enrico Bronzi, Giovanni Gnocchi and Stefano Cerrato.
In March 2011 he will perform at Sydney Opera House as a member of YouTube Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.

Nato nel 1994, studia violoncello sotto la guida del maestro Antonino Puliafito e del maestro Enrico Bronzi.
Ha ottenuto numerosi riconoscimenti in concorsi nazionali e internazionali. A sette anni, il secondo premio al Concorso "Città di Manerbio", a otto e dodici anni il primo premio assoluto in due edizioni del "Concorso Nazionale delle Scuole di Musica" di Campi Bisenzio; a tredici anni il primo premio assoluto al Concorso Tallon di Pordenone dedicato agli archi. Nel 2008 ha ottenuto due primi premi assoluti in duo e in trio al Concorso Nazionale Zangarelli di Città di Castello, nel 2009 con il Trio della Piccola Orchestra Veneta si è aggiudicato il primo premio al Concorso Internazionale "Giovani musicisti" di Treviso e il Premio speciale della Provincia di Vicenza per la miglior esecuzione di musica da camera al "Concorso Internazionale di esecuzione pianistica e violinistica" di Schio. Nel 2009 ha inoltre partecipato come solista all'Ars Nova International Music Competition di Trieste, ottenendo un primo premio. Nel 2010, in trio con la sorella Martina Morello e con Paolo Tagliamento, ha vinto il primo premio assoluto all'Ars Nova International Music Competition. Nel 2009 è stato vincitore del "Premio Rotary", offerto dal Rotary Club di Portogruaro.
Dal 2005 suona in varie compagini orchestrali giovanili, come primo violoncello solista: l'orchestra sinfonica "Giovani Musicisti Veneti" di Treviso, l'orchestra da camera "Piccola orchestra veneta" di Conegliano e l'orchestra giovanile "Zinaida Gilels" di San Vito al Tagliamento, con la quale ha partecipato al "Festival Assisi nel mondo" 2009 e 2010, anche come solista. Nel 2008 e nel 2009 ha partecipato a varie produzioni, organizzate dal Teatro La Fenice, della Giovane Filarmonica del Veneto, partecipando a rappresentazioni di Aida e Rigoletto in Veneto, Toscana e Calabria.
Ha suonato inoltre con varie orchestre e gruppi professionali, quali l'Orchestra Naonis di Pordenone, l'Orchestra del Veneto Orientale, l'Orchestra Classica del Veneto e l'ensemble Dramsam (musica antica). E' stato impegnato anche in produzioni di musica contemporanea.
Presso la Fondazione Santa Cecilia di Portogruaro frequenta dal 2007 i corsi di perfezionamento tenuti da Enrico Bronzi, Giovanni Gnocchi e Stefano Cerrato.
A Marzo 2011 suonerà al Teatro dell'Opera di Sydney come membro dell'Orchestra Sinfonica di YouTube sotto la direzione del M° Michael Tilson Thomas.
