There were a number of reasons for their break up, but one of them involved this song. Phil Spector was hired to produce it...but not by Paul. When Paul heard the full blown orchestration he got pissed. Despite his complaints it was released on the album with even more so.

I love Sal's work. This particular video however, is I feel sub-par for him, and very much the way math is often taught. For example, at 5:40 when he states "let me expand these two binomials", he never mentions why. More of a lecture style delivery, not one of clarification and concept.
