Pavarotti's Che Gelida Manina High C in 1969!!
One of his Best High Cs!!
please tell me why this is one of his best Hi C's. I have an operatic type tenor voice, but sometimes I wonder if my notes above hi b flat have enough or any wight or chest tone in them, actually because they sound more like this recording than other ones, which sound fuller, more like the rest o...

Thanks for posting this. When I got the opera version of this tune ( sung by Callas) I was blown away because I remembered this from my childhood
He is the kind of singer that must be appreciated in person.. . . his movements are transmutations of the music, as though it suddenly became visible a...

Recondita Armonia - Jose Carreras (1970s)
Recondita Armonia from Tosca's Act 1. Sang by Jose Carreras in the early 1970s.
@bigus How is it possible for a singer with his resources to not be able to find a reliable technique? Is it so elusive to embrace a natural way of singing (like
bjoerling did for example) or is it the fiery spanish emotionalism, that also villazón succumbed to that was their voices undoing?

@flowersings I dont think she liks this aria, and she showed it by swinging slightly flat. This is a song of hate and revenge, not like her at all.

Is this version of Messiah on a disc? Or a fulll length dvd?
I would think that this kind of singing is very accurate for this period, and would have been loved by Bellini as well. Each note is intoned perfectly without any sliding or slurring and is joined to all the otherswhile remaining inded...

Jussi Björling - Faust - Salut, demeure
The whole performance of Jussi Björling singing Salut, demeure, from Gounoud's Faust.
@opera888able One recording of his has "joy-jelly" instead of gio-i-elli in Che Gelida Manina. That gave me a tickle. His voice is on the dark side, like caruso's; and dorothy caruso praised him as enrico's successor, I read.
