Monte Cristo Records is an Independent Record Label founded by David Monte Cristo and James Michaels and located in Hackensack, NJ.

Monte Cristo Records has released 11 CDs and 3 Music DVDs in diverse styles including techno, electronica, synthpop, pop, new age jazz, piano/vocals, international and spoken word. The DVD Profound Inspiration of: David Monte Cristo is our signature production, contains soundtracks taken from 9 of our CDs and tells who we are and where we have come from.

David Monte Cristo is a one man orchestra, pianist, multikeyboardist and abstract artist. He composes, sings, programs drums, recites poetry and shoots video. He gives live performances on acoustic piano with vocals. He also performs using a complete digital performance system. His repertoire includes hit songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, originals, classical and international. The international repertoire includes songs from Italy, Spain, France, Russia, Israel and Georgia.

James Michaels received his Eng.Sc.D. in Mineral Engineering and Chemical Metallurgy from the Henry Krumb School of Mines, Columbia University. The title of his thesis is "The Acidified Ferrous Sulfate Leaching of Copper Sulfides in the Presence of Oxygen and Sulfur Dioxide Gas Mixtures" and he gave a presentation on this topic at Copper 99/Cobre 99 which was held in Phoenix. Az. from Oct 10-13, 1999. He has also written a business plan for the development of a new hydrometallurgical treatment for copper concentrates. He has worked in the Chemical and Metals industries for 25 years in Research and Development, Service and Sales.

In the studio he plays piano and keyboards and shoots/produces videos.

James Michaels was born on April 11, 1953 in New Kensington, PA. He is an Aries with Libra Rising and the Moon in Pisces.

On June 9, 2009 Monte Cristo Records was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for charitable contribution and dedication to Operation Gratitude and its Mission to support military personnel deployed overseas.
