born in Roundup, MT....sounds like a cowtown?
nope, it's a coal mining town.My grandparents
Fanyak came from Croatia...were poor peasant farmers near a small village in the moutains of Croatia. Ended up poor coal miners near a small town in the moutains of MT....working 12 hour days 6 days a week for $1.00 a day.My dad and his 3 brothers each started mining when they were 12[legal age then].
A real American story...only a 3rd generation American:I went to college; had an 8 year career teaching college philosophy;
went back to grad school, changing careers, and had a 35 year career as a rehabilitation counselor supporting efforts of persons with disabilities to work and live in the community and as a not for profit administrator.
Ironically, then I myself became a person with disabilities due to a brain aneurysm and a stroke during surgery. Now retired due to paralysis on my left side and using a wheelchair.Looking for ways to use the internet to support others with disabilities,
using my professional experience.Have a humorous video about my experience with a disability in progress...hoping to upload it on U Tube soon. have a registered website under construction.
