Description
Mongol Environmental Conservation (MEC) was set up in 2009 as a project of Earth Island Institute, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. MECs activities include:

- promotes the collaboration of all segments of society, including citizens, government, business, industry,
education, NGOs, donors, etc.;
- offers education, training, and advocacy for all segments of society
- develops environmental leadership within Mongolia;
- organizes environmental and cultural expeditions and exchanges
- offers mechanisms to share its knowledge with world-wide environmental organizations and institutions
- supports research and environmental assessment
- promotes cultural and natural heritages of Mongolia
- provides technical and financial assistance to local environmental NGOs
