Hey, there were 'real women' singers back in the day. Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Kitty Wells. It's not 'feminization', it's the face that people like Taylor Swift has no idea what the heck she's singing about. And Willie Nelson hasn't written for her (like he wrote Patsy's 'Crazy'.)

it's all part of the journey. I saw him in concert when he was a young man, obviously looking for something. He found it, and we lost him for awhile. His voice is maybe better now, deeper with years and learning. I've always remembered this song, and how it hinted at his search.
