It's January 13th, 1:52 am and I just got the news of Michael Brecker's passing less than an hour ago. I had just finished a gig and was checking my voice messages when I heard from a fellow saxophone player friend. I cried. Michael Brecker was ( and will always be ) my musical hero, inspiration, and the manifestation of the absolute highest level of musicianship, saxophone playing, creativity, dedication, discipline, and individuality that I aspire to in my life as a musician and human being. Rest in Peace Michael. We never knew each other but you changed my life and I love you!
