Sun-Current Today TV News Thursday, Dec. 10
Following Tuesday and Wednesdays blizzard of the century, more than a few people would likely say its beginning to look a lot like Christmas. I spent a cold Wednesday afternoon looking at Christmas trees in Richfield. Heres what I found.
Its not a grinch theyre looking for, and he didnt steal Christmas, but the FBI is looking for a fat man with a gray beard.
A male suspect is being sought in connection with a robbery at the TCF Bank branch inside a Bloomington Cub Foods store.
The man, described as a 45- to 50-year-old black male, entered TCF Bank at 8423 Lyndale Ave. S., at approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8. He approached a teller, threw a white bag on the counter and demanded cash. He then drew a black semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the wall, according to the FBI.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspect had a medium to heavy build and long gray beard. He was wearing silver-rimmed glasses, a black knit hat, a gray waist-length fleece jacket with a white T-shirt or turtleneck underneath, blue jeans and white sneakers.
A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the man. Anyone with information should contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200.

Some local buses could be on the risk of going bust next year.
The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority Board of Directors approved an operating budget for 2010 last night that will leave its reserves at dangerously low levels if more funding isnt secured.
MVTA, which provides transit service in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Rosemount and Savage, will use $3.6 million from its reserves to maintain its level of service next year. Its remaining reserves will be enough to cover just 1.8 months of expenses well below the MVTAs own four-month reserve policy.
According to MVTA Executive Director Beverly Miller, the budget squeeze comes as the result of legislation last session the let the Metropolitan Council withhold $7 million from suburban transit providers to balance its own deficit. The suburban providers were asked to spend down their reserves instead.
The MVTA specified in its budget it would need about $3 million additional funding to stay within its four-month policy.
Director Jane Victory, who leads the boards Finance Committee, said if MVTAs reserves reach the 1.8-month level, cuts in service will be necessary.

Looks like winter is upon us. So far no accidents have been reported in Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, New Hope, Golden Valley, Plymouth and Robbinsdale. People still ventured out into the whipping wind and blowing snow today, but as many know traffic is slow. Officials say take it easy, go slow and be safe on the streets and remind people to not park vehicles on city streets so snowplows don't have to maneuver around them.
Hennepin County canceled today's H1N1 flu vaccine clinic at Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park. It will be rescheduled at a later date, but the next regularly scheduled H1N1 flu vaccine clinic is 3:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Wayzata High School in Plymouth. For more information on county H1N1 clinics visit www.hennepin.us/h1n1.
The city councils of New Hope, Crystal, Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, Hopkins and St. Louis Park will discuss the Northwest Metro Drug Taskforce at a joint meeting 6:30 p.m. tomorrow Dec. 10 at Plymouth City Hall. Legislators representing those cities also will attend.
