No sparging? No worries. James tries a new technique to get more malt character in his American Mild.

Great video guys...
This is almost exactly how I brew. I do a BIAB in my cooler mash tun. All the brewing water, no vorlauf, no mash out, no sparge, and I don't have to lift the bag out of the cooler. I just open the spigot to my brew kettle, and that's it. (clean up is easier too) I hit my gravi...

Funny...I was toying with the idea of building or buying an economical conical fermenter. These would be plastic, and I now wonder if they final product would be better than my current glass carbon system. Interesting...thanks for posting!

Please consider all grain with a "brew in a bag" method. You don't need to spend alot of money. No mash tun, just a bag in your brew pot that you are going to buy anyways. You can spend LESS money than a kit. During the winter I brew stove top (all grain) "brew in the bag". Just 1 to 2 gallon ba...

I think this beer could be a little inconsistent from year to year. First time I had it about 3 years back it was excellent. Last year I found it to have some stronger sour notes. This year, it's pretty good.

Gorgeous tree! Since the fall color seems like it appeared pretty late in the season, (compared to the surrounding trees in the video) I'm almost thinking the tree might be a nice red Sugar Maple. In our area of the midwest (Minnesota) Red Maples tend to show color very early, and most Sugar Mapl...

@ttcbandit Hi, I didn't stake or tie it. From what I've read, staking is required for trees that are bare root planted, or a young tree that is under 1" in trunk diameter. This was close to 3" when it was planted. It's starting to turn red right now for the season!

The peppermint taste is actually wintergreen...which comes from the birch oil. An acquired taste...for sure. Boylan's Original Birch Beer (not the creamy red) is extremely good. Boylan's is always spot on with their carbonation too.

I liked the dogs! The last two days I've drowned around 50 or 60 beetles. They are invading our fruit trees. I got tired of that, now I just walk around, pick them off the leaves, and crush them in between my fingers. Gross I know...but sort of satisfying ;)
