I think the Platters were one of the first groups to record this but American Idol gave credit to the Righteous Brothers for recording this.. The Platters were one of my favorite groups. The recorded so many beautiful songs.

Heart Break Hotel is my very favorite of all of Elvis' songs. I have listened to it every chance I get for the past 54 years. I love Elvis' music but this is my no. 1 favorite.
