She seems to love doing those acrobatics while holding her notes. Another example was in Don Pasquale when she did a full sit-up and didn't seem to be fazed by the singing. Will she sign for Roberto Devereux at the Met?

Miss Price was a great Puccini singer: Butterfly, Tosca. Her 'normal repetoire' included many Verdi heroines, as well. The greatest living American soprano.

I was fortunate enough to see Makarova dance Swan Lake in San Francisco in the late 70's(?). Dowell was unable to dance and was replaced by Nureyev - a rumor first reported by the late Herb Caen in the 'SF Chronicle'. What a noise when the announcement was made!!! I'll never forget it.

When I saw Miss Price perform this role in San Francisco I was transported to another world and fell in love that night with her (more deeply) and with this Verdi masterpiece.
