About this user

Born in the Caribbean Island of Dominica, Marcus Drigo a.k.a. "MJ Blues" now lives in the British Virgin Islands with his family. His professional career was established when he started a band in London and with the goal of creating his first music CD, though his development and love for playing the guitar was rooted from childhood. MJ Blues started "messing around with the guitar" when he was around 11 years old:

"I could not afford guitars in those days, so my cousin, Tee, and I used to make little guitars from shingles and fishing line. My cousin used to set those little strings really well and we'd jam Hendrix's version of "Hey Joe" and songs from Bob Marley's "Catcha Fire Album". Those were the fun days ... When I was 25, I moved to the British Virgin Island, Tortola. This was when I was introduced to Blues music by just browsing for something to identify with and play well. Growing up around Reggae, Calypso, Cadence and other West Indian music, the Blues was not what people expected me to play, but the language of the guitar in blues is a language I love to speak. I have ALWAYS had a deep love and caring for the guitar. I also aspired to be a great guitar player. Blues music set me on the right course for doing what I love to do for a living.

Sing Your Song CD album is my first and I know it wont be the last. It was recorded in London at Farleys Fun Factory. I hope you enjoy this CD and share with others ... When you come to the British Virgin Islands, make sure to ask for MJ Blues. I'll be jamming my music 5 nights a week and making people happy "blending the Blues to the Caribbean".
