Agreed! Carmassi would rival Bonham and Pert. This guy is amazing. I have seen him many times and plays hard, fast and with a driving force. Impeccable timing. He and Ronnie Montrose are two of the gems of under rated musicians.

@midiwriter52 Ronnie had developed prostate cancer a while back, but it is in remission. That is why the hair loss and weight gain. However, the fingers are still magic. Great guy, Ronnie!

You took my comment too literally. I meant today's musicians don't have the same passion, commitment and sound of guys like Lee, West and Montrose.

A fantastic and natural blues/rock guitarist. I saw Johnny about a year ago at Durty Nellies outside Chicago and he played well. It was a shock to see how much assistance he needed to get on and off the stage as well as sit down. Years of drug use. Still a great talent.

Most lists are silly in my opinion. When guys like Ronnie Montrose and Leslie West are not brought into the conversation there lacks credibility. I have seen them all. My personal favorite and I consider the best is Alvin Lee.

Bonham was great! But how can you say he was better than Neil Peart or Carl Palmer. MY gosh, from a technique stand point Buddy Rich may be the best drummer ever.

I love Zeppelin, but they are a better studio band than live band. I saw them back in 1975 at the old Chicago Stadium. Plant is an average live singer and Page is too sloppy. The guy who commented that Page is better than Hendrix knows little about music. I could name 5 better guitarist than Page...

First album I ever bought was "They Only Come Out At Night". A great album. Edgar is one of the most talented musicians ever. He is so diverse and gifted. I love Rick Derringer, but prefer Ronnie Montrose as a guitar player.
