@Mattietee3777 I would put Lennon's death, the way he died and his loss to the musical world as much greater. Even though both are sad and undeserving.

Agreed! Carmassi would rival Bonham and Pert. This guy is amazing. I have seen him many times and plays hard, fast and with a driving force. Impeccable timing. He and Ronnie Montrose are two of the gems of under rated musicians.

A fantastic and natural blues/rock guitarist. I saw Johnny about a year ago at Durty Nellies outside Chicago and he played well. It was a shock to see how much assistance he needed to get on and off the stage as well as sit down. Years of drug use. Still a great talent.

Most lists are silly in my opinion. When guys like Ronnie Montrose and Leslie West are not brought into the conversation there lacks credibility. I have seen them all. My personal favorite and I consider the best is Alvin Lee.

Both 'ripped' off the Yardbirds. This was their song. Both did covers. What is wrong with that. I have seen the original Foghat and Aerosmith in the 70s. I love Foghat, but they can't hold a candle to Aerosmith.

Have you seen both live in Concert? I have! Zeppelin is a great studio band, poor live band. Hagar is a better vocalist than Plant! Montrose is technically better than Page. I love Zeppelin, but they are a better studio band than live band. I saw them back in 1975 at the old Chicago Stadium. Plant is an average live singer and Page is too sloppy. John Bonham was a great drummer. However, I do not understand how people think he was better than Neil Pert, Carl Palmer or Denni Carmassi.
Back at you. You do not understand or have really listened to Montrose. Go back to his early days. I bet you think Bieber is better than Elvis, Backstreet Boys better than The Bealtes. Satch is great! Not nearly as versatile as Ronnie.
