And I am pretty knowledgeable about the music of William Smith Monroe. And I even know some of the old tunes with them 'old tones' in them. I like playing them a lot.
And I am here to say that Mike Compton is my flat out favorite mandolin picker. No one else does the bluesy, double-stop fiddle shuffle stuff like the William Smith Monroe showed us.
And William Smith Monroe was just an old-time fiddle player at heart. Just so happened that Birch took the fiddle first.
As William Smith Monroe said: "That was the deal of it".
So there!
Mr. Compton you are the greatest mandolin player since Mr. Bill. There is NO ONE better. Thank you for the videos.
Has anybody signed you up
for a RECORDING LABEL
CONTRACT?
I will if I could afford you...
Right now my artists are
just peanuts....
Just kidding....
All the Best!
