That's what happened to me about 2 ½ years ago when I was diagnosed with diabetes
It turned my whole world upside down
When I got out of the hospital that night, I made a commitment to myself that I wouldn't let it slow me down

And sometimes you just need a friend
When I had one of those days when nothing was going my way
About 6 months ago, so I sat down and wrote this song
So tonight, tonight this song, is for you.
This song is for every broken heart
and every lost dream
For every high and for every low
The day after I got out of the hospital, we did a show
A place called Bloomfield ave café
About 10 minutes away from here
There was 100 people at that show.
There's 15,000 here tonight and it sold out in 2 minutes
It hasn't slowed me down.
