Cocoa Divine aka Divine's sound can be described as Hip-Hop with a melodic twist. She is often compared to Lauryn Hill, Estelle and Foxy Brown.

Cocoa Divine is the great-grandchild of the former King of Lagos Ibikunle Akitoye. Though this means that Divine is officially a princess life for her was not all a bed of roses, growing up in North London with her supportive and hard working single mother who often took her to auditions, including The Disney Channel at the age of 8.

Cocoa Divine has been singing all her life, started writing songs aged 8 and began rapping when she was 14, finding a love of hip-hop and grime in the inner city streets of London, where she grew up with Ironik, Tinie Tempah, Chipmunk, Alexandra Burke and Firecamp amongst others -- a collective who form the bedrock of UK Urban artistry today.

In 2004 Divine auditioned for 'London Urban Collective' and really began to develop her recording and performing skills, writing and performing with Nom De Plume, Jonny Fox (The King Blues) Lykez and Redd (Fe-nix).

At 19 she was the youngest person in the UK to win a £20,000 Youth Opportunity grant to start up her own project to empower young girls through a cappella, vocal and song writing. She is now completing her mixtape, featuring James Bellamy, 2face (FireCamp), Tukeyz (produced for The Game) and Castro (D Fam - rapper and writer of Funky House hit "Go!"). She has also featured on mix tapes hosted by Dj Khalad and the London Urban Collective ATL album.

She has collaborated with DJ Ironik and Shystie and has been invited to perform for Russell Simmons, Kelly Rowland, Aresen Wenger and the players of Arsenal FC, Kano, Sound Boy Ent and Gemma Fox. She PA'd Diddy's "Making the band 4" group Day 26 and recently had the opportunity to open for the legendary super group Blackstreet with James Bellamy at Club Merah.
