Name: Ludwig von Mises Institute
Age: 35
The Ludwig von Mises Institute is the research and educational center of classical liberalism, libertarian political theory, and the Austrian School of economics. Working in the intellectual tradition of Ludwig von Mises (1881-1973) and Murray N. Rothbard (1926-1995), with a vast array of publications, programs, and fellowships, the Mises Institute seeks a radical shift in the intellectual climate as the foundation for a renewal of the free and prosperous commonwealth.

It is the mission of the Mises Institute to restore a high place for theory in economics and the social sciences, encourage a revival of critical historical research, and draw attention to neglected traditions in Western philosophy. In this cause, the Mises Institute works to advance the Austrian School of economics and the Misesian tradition, and, in application, defends the market economy, private property, sound money, and peaceful international relations, while opposing government intervention as economically and socially destructive.

What benefits do I attribute to free market capitalism? That fact that right now I can still work for dollars and put food on the table, and accumilate enough weath to become self-sustained.. That right now is becoming harder to do because OF THE Neo Liberal Regime!!

"state capitalism". hahaha! My experience is you put the state in anything and the end outcome is always negative to my prosperity and my freedom. peace out, I'll be looking forward to the next vid :)

In light of the fact that free market reform has been proven to be less successful than state capitalism in terms of growth ect - I suppose your going to switch your position and claim that free market capitalism just never went far enough -Lol
inkus2000 | June 23, 2008
So what benefits do you attribute to free market reform ? 'in reality' there has been a sharp decline in growth in the neo liberal era relative to the developmental 'state period' that preceded it, a decline of over half,a trend that 'is even more dramatic' when measured per capita, with increase in Inequality and little to no reduction in poverty.

These facts are sometimes obscured by the observation that conditions have generally improved under the Neo Liberal regime (as they almost invariably do under any economic regime) - hence your argument could be applied to the USSR or NAZI Germany for that matter - in fact- why not use rising living standards to justify slavery under the Roman Empire.

Oh btw your language is inapproiate and offensive. Any more and you will be reported..
SILVER0BUG | June 20, 2008
Nope. I never have owned a share, never will. My 200+% gains in real assets since inception speak for itself. How's THAT for experience?
"On the other hand you may be aware that it is in fact ******** and simply cling to it for personal reasons, class loyalty and whatnot - you don't happen to own shares do you?" [sic]
Says this to the $8 an hour worker of whom, thanks to the Austrians, I have for the first time savings that's actually growing faster than than the real rate of inflation, including food and energy..
"Its Ironic that you consider yourself any different from Marxists - who also base their philosophy on non falsifiable concepts" [SIC] "Guess that's the reason why the Nazi's burned most of Mises's books, and the Soviet Union collapsed economically huh?
inkus2000 | June 20, 2008
On the other hand you may be aware that it is in fact bullshit and simply cling to it for personal reasons, class loyalty and whatnot - you don't happen to own shares do you ?
inkus2000 | June 20, 2008
Lets cut through the bullshit - Socio political arguments stemming from Austrian methodology are worthless. Would you argue that the boogyman exists in face all empirical evidence refuting such a notion if you thought you had a logical explanation ? lol Austrians are funny indeed

Its Ironic that you consider yourself any different from Marxists - who also base their philosophy on non falsifiable concepts.

No doubt youv entirely buried your head in the sand at this point - 35 years of age, wow youv prob wasted your life reading Austrian material and feel you need to keep up the charade. sad :(

The scientific method would be to revise the theory in light of the facts. Austrians reject the facts in light of the theory ! Without experience, any theory is just a flight of fantasy. For the higher a deductive edifice is built, the more likely it is that errors will creep in and these can only be corrected by checking the analysis against reality. Starting assumptions and trains of logic may contain inaccuracies so small as to be undetectable, yet will yield entirely false conclusions. Similarly, trains of logic may miss things which are only brought to light by actual experiences or be correct, but incomplete or concentrate on or stress inappropriate factors. To ignore actual experience is to loose that input when evaluating a theory.
inkus2000 | June 20, 2008
Individual recognition is no way to go about seeking truth - the mere existence of error in history disproves the notion that individuals have an innate capacity to recognize absolute truth. Scientific consensus is the only way to go -, otherwise we would have retarded Christian monks and Austrian economists running around preaching about the 'true' path to enlightenment . Of course the scientific method does not 'eliminate' the possibility of error, but it 'does' reduce it to the smallest degree possible.

Truth by fiat, individual intuition, minority verdict ect are all inferior to the scientific method. If you think otherwise your nothing more than a glorified witchdoctor.
