My favorite singing quartet of Christmas songs. Limited instrumental, almost completely a capella. Wonderful!

@greatgazu --You are completely correct. Grunge was one 'vehicle' for Soundgarden to travel. Soundgarden in their career, has chosen many 'vehicles' to travel with their songs. Labels are given to groups to make them somehow 'belong' to a classification, and gives familiarity to those who need to...

After all the analysis, some very microscopic and some very genuine, what a great idea for Sean to do that tribute. I don't need to compare Sean, because he is Sean, not John. Having said that, the genetics are a little inescapable, but he has his own style, and his uniqueness is great. Oh yes, I...

Carl Perkins had a great picking style that I enjoyed; it was economical(for the time period he was in), but he stuck to the rhythm and could syncopate like few could. All that, and wail out those vocals, he was rare indeed! No wonder so many musicians followed his style and made their own path.

@HRHRaider ---A very good point--It is almost as if Henley/Frey felt they could adapt and not feel the loss(which is a bunch of horse patoot). They also threw away great, unique songwriters like Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. A shame!

The interview was civil, as civil as one would be in the mid 60's (a lot less whining, purposeless criticism than you would see these days). What amazes me is what this band did with very little technology at the time ( an organ with a few pitch differences)and very stripped down guitar (no dist...

The only reason Live at Leeds seems "overrated" is because it is forever in infamy; it is easier to target those performances, because they are there to observe--As far as better? this one's longer, it's more of a basic 'jam'.

It is a shame that the original artists cannot forget the past and reunite, although the initial reasons I am sure were valid. I can tell that this type of music requires much detailed practice, so to dedicate to it means to play it exclusively a lot to get it right. This is true after being so ...

I prefer the BBC version, a slight edge. This song, like many Yardbirds studio cuts, was in a big hurry (probably to satisfy the club dance rhythms). I just prefer the slower time on the BBC one, it seems more natural. Sounds great, though!
