Do you mind sharing more details on the roof? How do you measure the trusses? I understand how you put up the trusses and the sheathing - but how do you cut and nail the trusses individually? How do you measure them properly?

with a wall this small you can do this on the ground and pick it up after. i also was under the impression that you were supposed to hang the sheathing below the bottom plate so it will cover the seam between the bottom plate and the floor. i have been fascinated by the tiny house movement for the last few years, and have been enjoying your project. thanks.

Kevin, than you first of all, for all of the videos. I had actually seen your first video a couple days after it was posted, The 8x8 knock down. I have been planning my tiny house for a while now. Waiting for the last of the birdies to fly away. :) Your design, however, is perfect so far as its is the same design, measurements (minus window and door placement) as mine. Including the gambrel roof! Very cool that I have your pre-made to follow for mine! Thanks again for all of your videos. lol Oh and folks gotta love the redneck traveling pool! :)

Ok micro housers It has been brought to my attention by several people that there are tiny house plans being sold that do not have framing diagrams included in them.If you are going to buy plans be sure that they have clear instructions and diagrams detailing the building process.

Good Plans should have cut sheets and materials list telling you the things you will need to be successful.A cut sheet tells you every cut and dimension for each phase of construction .

Unless you are an experienced builder you will struggle with creating your own materials take off (that is reading the plan and determining what quantities and sizes of all building materials you will need to build your project) If the plans do not provide these details you are spending money on incomplete plans you may not be able to use .

I recently purchased a small house plan. However, once I got it there were no framing plans...Could you put the word out if you buy plans even the popular small house plans....to check the plans and read everything. If it doesn't say framing plans it doesn't have them.  This sight that we all know had a picture of framing yet the plans did not come with it. Also, my husband and I think your doing a great job! We are starting our build in March.

Poop! I just like saying that .It sounds funny.Where does it go was the question.After you fill the container with ahem deposits we take it out to a special bin outside where it finnishes composting for a year before it is used around the ornamental garden beds.Poop! there I said it again .;)
