VH was better with Hagar. In the original lineup, there's one really good musician in the bunch, and Dave's posing and preening got old. Hagar is a better singer than Dave, adds another guitar to the sound and another songwriter to the mix.

Dr. Landy did a lot of good for BW and also a lot of harm. It's way too complex to simply say "he saved Brian's life" or "he screwed up Brian's life." In the big picture, I think Landy was a bad guy who did a lot of harm - but it probably is true that he saved Brian's life along the way.

Um ... why would anyone think this video clip constitutes rape? I mean, if you say you're opposed to hazing, I can get on board with that. But how could anyone watch this scene and come away thinking that anyone was raped?

Classic Domi in the first Probert fight. Probert kicks his butt. Domi starts asking the officials to break it up the moment his helmet comes off. And then then they're separated, Domi struts around pantomiming the championship belt, like anyone thinks he won that fight. Moron.

(a.) The referee in this scene is the ref in pretty much every "game scene" in the film. He is portrayed as a goofball and is practically comic relief.

(b.) The idea that Rob Lowe's character, after a couple of quick fighting lessons from his dad, could beat the crap out of the league's most noto...

Brilliant movie. And these are the two best performances in it.

Supposedly Dylan named his album "Time Out of Mind" after that lyric in Zevon's song "Accidentally, Like a Martyr." I don't know if that's true, but I've heard it more than once, that this was the derivation of that Dylan album title. They're two great American artists, that's for sure.
