I disagree : it's a pretty good film all round. Starts out like a comedy then gets progressively darker. Certainly Jami's best role in the last two decades.

I 'm pretty sure it was autumn 1984 as the chairman of the SDP society who was running the event defected to Labour the following year which was my last at Leeds. We had to make do with Bill Rodgers in 85 ; he was less of a crowd-puller.

Nice thought but I'm still a bit doubtful. If they'd gone into the 1983 election as frontrunners their policies ( and leaders ) would have been under much heavier scrutiny and I'm not sure they would have stood up.

Fish is the stage name of Derek Dick who was lead singer with Marillion from 1981 to 1989 (i,e their commercial peak). Neither party has fared as well since. Hope that's helpful.
