Wouldn't you have to scan the film images to get them into the computer without any loss of images quality. I look at the size and resolution of your final work and wow. I'm just amazed. With a 10MP DSLR I could perhaps scrape in twice A2.

What I am talking about is that a movie entitled 'Captain American, 'The First Avenger' was made with the 5D and its footage seemlessly mixed with with the footage of 35mm film coverage. I wonder if it is necessary to go to the expense of C300 or red epic even for cinema productions.

@jamesmalonemusic The reason why I asked was that lint fibres are known to introduce very fine scratches on glass. The problem is that some you can only see when magnified. Especially if the glass is optically coated I would be worried. Maybe microscope apos are different.

I think of buying 550D. However, I can see a lot of scewing and noise.

just asking here Jeff. You say the camera is already converted for IR. Why would you still need a red filter in front of the lens? I'm not quite getting it.

I am using a 5d Mark2. He said that 24f/s are better for movies and 30f/s is for online. I have shot footage on both framerates and can't tell the difference. Is there some sort of hidden difference in quality if you want to shoot for movie production? How does this work? Can someone help?

I have a 5d Mark2. What I would like to know is why do you lower the contrast and sharpness in the picture style settings? All I end up with is blurry and pale-looking footage. Trying to grade this footage on a video editor only adds artifacts and more block-noise.

So what is wrong with setting ...
