Founder of the instrumental group "ZonaAzul", is the composer of most of the themes recorded in their 2 LPs "Zonazul" and "Luzanoz" -- Som da Gente
Michel's career includes shows and international tours with his " Michel Freidenson Jazz Trio / Quartet " and acclaimed Brazilian musicians such as Hermeto Pascoal, Djavan, Marcio Montarroyos ( i.m ), Raul de Souza, Ivan Lins, Tim Maia ( i.m. ), Leny de Andrade, Ana Caram, Jane Duboc, Fafá de Belém, Lô Borges, Léa Freire, Bocato, Duda Neves, Badi Assad, Daisy Cordeiro among others .
A finalist at the "Martial Solal International Jazz Piano Competition" - Paris, 1989, Michel also taught Music for Films at the FAAP University in São Paulo and is active in the advertising field as a composer and producer of jingles and soundtracks for movies, TV and internet.
Michel Freidenson participated at the " Free Jazz Festival " Rio de Janeiro with his band Zonazul, " Aruba Jazz Festival " with Djavan,
" Parliament Jazz Festival " -- Moscow, 09/2003 and Asia Tour 2004 with the brazilian singer Ana Caram launching the CD "Hollywood Rio", recorded at NY for Chesky Records , with Michel´s amazing work as arranger and musician playing all instruments except sax and flute . "Joinville Jazz Festival" - Brasil (08/2003), "Itajai Jazz Festival" -- Brasil (07/2003) and won the "Fampop Music" prize both for Best Player and public choice.
In July 2004 Michel was invited to play at the " North Sea Jazz Festival " -
Den Haag, Holland, with his " Michel Freidenson Jazz Quartet "
Having produced and arranged more than 70 CD's, Michel Freidenson's own CDs, " Jazzis ", " Eletrobossa ", " Eletrobossa Nights " ( Azul Music ) , show some of his original compositions, creative arrangements and remarkable improvisational talent at the keyboards and acoustic piano.
