Great demo. Exactly the kinds of gritty, angry sounds I imagine when I think of Phase Distortion. It's too bad there's such a stigma to the Casio name, because they made some pretty wicked synths back in the day.

Most likely it was "James' tech fails to switch guitar sound". Both he and Kirk have their techs do the switching for them backstage so as to keep as clean a stage setup as possible. Still hilarious, though.

@maw88ify Well, a more accurate description would be: Ubuntu 11 is buggy as hell. I would suggest looking into other flavors of Linux, as Canonical and Shuttleworth can't be bothered with the concerns of longtime users anymore.

@igyigyigy1234 Is the mic connected directly to the card? If so, it won't work, as a condenser mic requires +48v phantom power. You'd need a separate preamp or mixer with phantom power to get it to function.

Doesn't sound bad, but when I used it, I found that is was 2 half steps out of tune for some reason.

@rickyarte If you want weighted keys, you'll have get an ASR-88. A bit harder to find, but the feel of the keys is amazing. Plus, it comes with SCSI and Digital I/O standard.

@AlexisNembrode Agreed. So much more than just a Rhodes piano simulation. I used to think these were limited, mostly due to how so many people only use them for certain sounds. After digging into one myself, though, I learned the truth.
