Merdan Taplak (28 years-old, from Antwerp, Belgium) has established a rockin' reputation as DJ and producer over the past years (see international compilations like 'Electro Swing'.) However, the breakthrough only took place in 2010 with the live band, turning lots of festivals and venues upside down. The combination of Merdan's DJ skills and an atypical beatbrassband provided him a fantastic live-reputation, nationally and internationally.

In the meanwhile Merdan Taplak dived into his personal musical history to prepare the long-awaited debut album, blending early-discovered electronic sounds with the atypical grooves of his Turkish roots. He gathered a fine group of guests like Princess Superstar, The Glimmers, Fat Jon, Sanseverino, Kraantje Pappie and Eline Mabilde and snuck into the studio of producer Arne Van Petegem (Styrofoam).

The result is IN IT FOR THE HONEY', free to interpret, but 100% Merdan Taplak. On 18 February this album will be exclusively launched by Merdan, his Orkestar and a number of very special guests at the Ancienne Belgique.
