"Planet Caravan" is a psychedelic song by Black Sabbath. The song's lyrics and mellow music create a dreamy atmosphere. The song appears on their 1970 breakthrough album, Paranoid. Although the song was never considered a hit by Black Sabbath, it was covered by Pantera, at first intended to be included on the "Nativity In Black" tribute album, but once recorded rejected by Ozzy Osbourne, and then included on their album Far Beyond Driven as well as on their greatest hits.
Lead singer Ozzy Osbourne achieves the dreamy, swirling vocal effect by singing through a Leslie speaker.
LYRICS:
We sail through endless skies
Stars shine like eyes
The black night sighs
The moon in silver trees
Falls down in tears
Light of the night
The earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze
In orbit always
While down below the trees
Bathed in cool breeze
Silver starlight breaks down the night
And so we pass on by the crimson eye
Of great God mars
As we travel the universe
