Wow, for all their chops and schooling, Larry and Jeff's swing feel still sounds pretty average (as usual). Stick to your favorite straight 8th feel guys . In Bud Powell's SOLO PIANO version of this there is more swing in Buds little finger than in this whole performance!

For such a nice player and compelling guy, Peter rarely ever gives instructional material that accommodates the advanced jazz drummer. Always foundational techniques and bare basic . I wish there was more advanced brush techniques etc. that he could offer, I really think he's one of the best.

What an original ...That's what i love about his playing, He doesn't sound like anyone else, that's something that not enough emphasis is placed on as it has been in older generations of musicians. I remember this guy when he was 15 man. He was really playing then too!.Great guy

Music is not a competition, Both versions are cool, This is a completely different approach to the song , leaning much more on the side the rock n roll sound than the Cadillacs' astonishing version which was mostly an acapella version, with just a bass player and organist on the recording.

Very impressive man! I've been studying Philly's work for more that 15 years and have this one memorized, but it took years. I agree with the sticking here too! I wonder what some of his wrist techniques looked like, I think he was pretty showy with a lot of this stuff, visually that is. Bravo!!
