its not even close to a tie ballistically. .357mag is pushing about 600ft/lbs at the muzzle, and the .45 is closer to 350.

Yeah, spend the money and get a Sig P229, and a shoulder holster. and get it in .40S&W. The "compromise" between 9mm and .45 auto is actually more powerful than either one. definitely worth checking out.

Its cheaper than winchester because winchester uses real FMJ bullets. The ammo federal loads for walmart is a copper plated bullet. I'm not saying one is any better than the other, you probably won't notice a difference. But there is a difference.

The mosin is an ok rifle for what it is. A low cost rifle that shoots powerful, low cost ammo. Its historical value is worth more than the rifle itself. I personally favor the SMLE or P17 for bolt action war rifles. Ultimately tho, guns are fun to shoot.
