About this user

I am an active freelance flutist in Memphis, TN with a passion for teaching. I received a BM (flute performance) from the University of Mississippi along with a MM (flute performance) from the University of Memphis. I am a certified Suzuki and Orff teacher and have a very large private studio consisting of students from all over the Mid-South area ranging from age 3 to adult. I use several teaching techniques and believe that is part of why my students do very well. I have had several students place in top chairs at honor bands, win competitions, receive large scholarships, and have participated in the National Flute Association HS Flute Choir. Each summer I coordinate the MidSouth Summer Flute Institute in Memphis and the surrounding areas. I currently serves on the board of the MidSouth Flute Society as Exhibits Chair for the annual Flute Festival held each spring. I have performed at Wildacres Flute Retreat, Brevard, Domain Forget, and performed in the National Wind Ensemble in Carnegie Hall as well as in masterclasses with numerous flutist such as William Bennett, Lorna McGhee, Angeleita Floyd, Sheryl Cohen, Trygve Peterson, Bart Feller, Kathleen Chastain to name a few. In 2009, I served as taped round judge for the NFA High School Soloist Competition. Her teachers have included Christy Tate, Ruth Ann McClain, Carol Dale, and Bruce Erskine. Jennifer is also owner of Memphis Music Box, which links the Memphis area with local musicians and provides music for all occasions.
