Texas Children's Author Melissa M. Williams releases the second book in her Turtle Town Chapter Books Series for Kids inspired by International Professional Surfer, Jake Marshall. Williams and Marshall went on tour in the San Diego, California area speaking to students about the process of writing a story all about Snap Shell, pro surfing boxshell turtle, who travels to famous surf breaks across California, Hawaii and Australia to compete and learn about life in different areas of the world. Williams has visited hundreds of schools in the past few years, inspiring kids to read and write their own stories. Marshall, spokesperson for the READ2LEAD Organization, surfs for the USA surf team and winner of the 2013 King of the Groms World Final has used his love for reading, academics and of course professional surfing to inspire kids to reach their goals. While on tour, the students were over the top excited to learn, that young Jake Marshall had not only given Melissa Williams surf advice for her story, reading every word before publication, but his life experiences as a young pro surfer helped the author create her main character, Snap Shell.
