Hungarian guitarist Melinda Toth began to play the guitar at the age of five under the instruction of her father. In 1994, at an age of merely 13 she gave her debut concert in her beautiful home city, Pecs. Her successful debut immediately propelled her career with many concerts and participations to guitar festivals and competitions. In 1995 she won the 1st prize in the guitar-violin competition in Sasd, Hungary. In 1998 she was finalist in the Hungarian national competition in Budapest as well as on the Mertz International Guitar Competition in Bratislava. In 2010 she was chosen for an italian concert tour at the 'Young guitar performers selection' as the winner of the Paganini competition.

Ms Toth has attended several master classes given by Pavel Steidl, Marcin Dylla, Eduardo Fernandez, David Russell, Eduardo Isaac, Oscar Ghiglia, John Mills, Zoran Dukic, Giampaolo Bandini, Paolo Pegoraro and Josef Zapka. She has also engaged as a singer becoming the soloist of a choir presenting works of Bach, Handel, Mozart, and Schubert. She is also an accomplished piano player.

In 2000 she became the student of Jozsef Eotvos at the Music Academy in Budapest wherefrom she received her Bachelor and Teacher's degree in 2005. In 2004 she gained the Socrates/Erasmus scholarship to attend Antigoni Goni's class at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels. After graduation in Budapest she returned to Brussels and joined the Master program of the Royal Conservatory. She received her master's degree with great distinction in 2008.

Presently Ms Toth teaches in Budapest, gives both solo recitals and plays chamber music in various constellations.
