MELIJA TALENT DEVELOPMENT CENTER (San Diego) is a division of MELIJA MUSIC AND ARTS founded by Meliha Joy Montenegro a.k.a. Melija, a Filipino singer-composer. Aside from learning music and art lessons we train students on proper behavior,discipline & professionalism.

Melija is a former recording artist of HARMONY MUSIC, ALPHA RECORDS. Her music video of the song TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME,a cut from her 10 track self-titled album,made it to The Filipino Channel in 2000 and Mtv ASIA. Her song was launched at S.O.P., a show being aired on GMA Pinoy T.V.
She recorded more music videos for CAMPUS VIDEO hosted by Ryan Agoncillo in 2000. She recorded OH SACRED HEART in the THE GREAT JUBILEE ALBUM that includes favorite artists like Aegis,Rica Peralejo,Paula Peralejo and more. Another song she recorded for Alpha Records is TELL THE WORLD OF HIS LOVE,a cut from "COMPLETELY YOURS" A TRIBUTE TO POPE JOHN PAUL II ALBUM. It includes Cooky Chua, Moonstar88 and other superb artists. TELL THE WORLD OF HIS LOVE was first recorded by Jamie Rivera, composed by Trina Belamide, and theme song to World Youth Day. In 2001, Melija received another offer to record in Singapore but she decided to migrate to the U.S. to be with her family.On the same year she launced her album at her very own concert in San Diego produced by Hollywood Music 2 Studio.

Melija's compositions FOREVER YOU AND ME and WHY made it to the top 30 of METROPOP SONG WRITING COMPETTITON for 2 consecutive years (1998, 1999) out of 1,000 entries accepted nationwide each year. As a child, she won in community, church and school singing/art competitions.
Before she left the Philippines, she has done numerous mall shows, campus tours, t.v. and radio guestings all over the country, encouraging kids and teens to develop their talents. She did several self-titled concerts in different cities of Negros Oriental and in Padcal. She performed at The Search for Ms. Silliman University 2000. She was one of the T.V. hosts of C.U. @ E., a show for teens and young adults on Channel ABC 5.
Being a well rounded artist, she completed acting courses under WORLD THEATER PROJECT/SAMBA-LIKHAAN and ABS-CBN TALENT DEVELOPMENT CENTER (singing and acting where she received an AWARD OF COMMENDATION). She had also taken ballet lessons as a child at ST. SCHOLASTICA'S ACADEMY and continued with her dance studies at the CIVIC DANCE CENTER IN SAN DIEGO. A former student of an exclusive school for girls, St. Scholasticas Academy in Metro Manila, Philippines, Ms. Melija at a young age attended lessons at the CENTER FOR POP MUSIC PHILIPPINES and THE RYAN CAYABYAB MUSIC STUDIO (with international classical singer Ms. Lisa Cabahug as her teacher). She attended Playshop Photography Course by international photographer Ms. Lita Puyat. She completed a Drawing workshop at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts in 1996 and has also completed Wedding /Event Planning corse under U.S. Career Institute in 2006.

Aside from MELIJA TALENT DEVELOPMENT CENTER,she has founded MELIJA MURAL AND DESIGN offering hand-painted murals, portraits and custom-made paintings and ARTISTIC WEDDINGS by Melija. She thanks her staff for making all these possible.
