About [meLê yamomo]
meLê yamomo is a theatre director, music composer, and performance scholar.
meLê has worked with various theatre, puppet and opera companies as a director and music composer. He has also represented the Philippines in various international theatre and art festivals/conferences. He is the founder/artistic director of Dulaang Habi and Habi-Media. He was appointed Artist-in-Residence at CASA San Miguel Arts Centre, where he founded Dulaang San Antonio. He served as executive director of ANINO Shadowplay Collective and inaugurated its first theatre season. He was also the group's resident composer and musical director. In 2004-2005, he was exchange-artist and fellow with the National Theatre of Korea under the funding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Arts Council Korea. He served as lecturer at the Philippine High School for the Arts, and at the Performance Department of Assumption University of Thailand. In Bangkok, he was also Artist-in-Residence with NUNi Productions.
meLê has lived in Manila, Seoul, Bangkok, Amsterdam and Warwick.
