I have had a few friends over the years with pet snakes, most of them were non-venomous. My favorite was a guy named mike that ran a tour/show called "Reptile World". He had almost every snake, lizard, & turtle you could imagine. He used to visit schools & other places educating people about reptiles & showing off his collection. When I heard he was killed by one of his snakes I thought his cobra got him, I was wrong. He was killed by a 8ft long Burmese Python. The police report said the python got out of it cage in the night & squeezed him to death. Just because a snake isn't poisonous doesn't mean it's not dangerous. My friend Mike was an expert, one of the best in his field & he's no longer with us. Wild animals belong in the wild, not in a human home.
