I understood that Dinesh said that he would only listen to the voice in his head if it agreed with the teachings of scripture. In other words, he wouldn't be relying on his own morality but on his interpretation of the Bible.

Oh, well it's true that Dinesh does tend to equivocate a lot, but I think he just gets fired up a little. I have the same impulse when I get defensive and feel I'm not getting my point across.

I can't believe all the anger I see in these posts toward Dinesh. Even the audience is getting bashed because they were polite enough to applaud both debaters. This is a debate meant to challenge your views. If you think atheism holds all the answers, then you're close-minded also.

Singer essentially went to the heart of anti-Christianity arguments. His brute honesty about the Christian God portrayed in the Bible makes a person less enthusiastic about believing in such a God.

Singer is presenting his argument pretty much parallel to my understanding of the Bible. If you consider the problem of evil and the unfulfilled predictions in the gospels and the OT God antics, it is very difficult to still accept Christianity.

Mark 16:8- "the women told noone"... Gerd is right here, imo. The book of Mark is explaining here why the location of the tomb was not known; because only woman had seen it, and they were instructed not to tell. How could this Markan story have survived if the location of the tomb was known?
