He's not the most technical street skater I've ever seen (that's still Rodney Mullen), but I've never seen anybody make more creative use of street terrain. Real genius-level stuff.

Usually, when somebody says something about some oldtime guy like "he invented everything the kids are doing today," they're saying that to defend the oldtime guy from charges that he can't keep up.

Not Rodney. He invented half the modern street skating vocabulary, and he is still doing tricks ...

These aren't Rodney's hardest tricks, but they're still pretty technical.

It's not like Daewon's no good or anything -- he's great. But having him "vs." Rodney is pretty silly. Rodney invented almost the entire modern street skating repertoire, starting with the flatland ollie, then the ollie kickflip, the ollie impossible, then finally just for kicks, the darkslide....

It's silly. That Scheckler kid is a good skateboarder. Rodney is the best non-vert skateboarder to date, and it's not close. As another commenter pointed out, he INVENTED the flatland ollie. He also invented the ollie kickflip, the ollie impossible, the ollie airwalk, the darkslide...

Rodney is the best technical skater yet. He invented many foundational tricks of modern street skating: the flatland ollie, ollie kickflip, impossible, etc. He's got superb balance, and there are a significant number of tricks that Rodney does that I have simply never, ever seen anyone else do...
