It's a great homage to Tom Baker. I like a lot of his shows because of the horror elements in many of the episodes like "Pyramids of Mars." The new Doctor Who shows never lost that sense of mystery about the man... Baker remains my favorite. However, if I were to pick a favorite in the new series alone, it would be Smith. His alien qualties and elusiveness as a character lends a certain weridness that has been missing in the shows for a long time.
It is great to see the show doing so well on both sides of the ocean.
I met Sylvester McCoy back in 1987. i wish I could meet Tom Baker... I missed him by a couple of days when I visited Boston... apparently Baker gave a speech regarding the Tea Pary anniversary in the mid-90s.
