Borderlands writer george mcclure is Roots - Country - Jazz. McClure started his career playing bass and banjo in Arizona (1979) and founded a publishing company and wrote "Variations On Theme", the first improvisation manual for 5-string banjo by age 25. McClure toured up to 225 shows per year thru the 1990's with his "McClure's America" and now writes and records.
The Recording Academy calls him "jazzy songwriter singer": put him in any vehicle, from a 3-piece unit to a 12-piece big band, and what you get is still McClure. A stylist, his peers have said "a true original","impeccable", and say "he makes every song his own."
