Thinking Ahead Public Event Series Play

In the spring of 2014, the McMaster Health Forum organized a two-and-a-half-day initiative called Thinking Ahead: How We Can Better Support Optimal Aging in Canada Using the Best Available Research Evidence, that included two public panel discussions for the community. Thinking Ahead: Supporting Optimal Aging in Canada Using the Best Available Research Evidence Play

Health Systems Evidence Play

The tutorial developed by the McMaster Health Forum was launched in December 2011. It is currently available in English and French and will soon be made available in the other languages in which Health Systems Evidence is available (Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish).

The video tutorial describes how to make the best use of the features of Health Systems Evidence (www.healthsystemsevidence.org), to assist users to rapidly identify syntheses of the best available research on a particular health system topic, as well as economic evaluations, health system reforms and descriptions of health systems.

The Evidence-Informed Healthcare Renewal (EIHR) Portal video tutorial, also in English and in French, includes information on how users can access documents focusing on Canadian healthcare renewal.

Addressing Student Mental Health Needs at McMaster Play

April 10, 2013: Addressing Student Mental Health at McMaster University.
In these post-dialogue interviews, 16 of the 20 dialogue participants -- a mix of university leaders, policymakers, providers, researchers and student leaders -- discuss the importance of developing an overarching strategy and building on existing resources in order to address student mental health needs efficiently and effectively. Engaging students and their families along with policymakers and providers in this process is identified as a key element in all efforts to determine needed services.
